The mayor signed a collaboration agreement with the Rector of the University of Murcia in order to gain new technologies to paper space, thereby improving service to citizens and businesses.
Besides sharing resources among institutions, technological modernization of the City will facilitate payment to suppliers within 30 days.

Improve service and communication with citizens by the City requires necessarily advance the process of modernization and final implementation of e-Government.
With this ultimate goal Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho have this morning signed a technological cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
The agreement is an improvement in the delivery of eGovernment services, which in turn will have a significant impact on the efficient use of public resources and the simplification of administrative procedures.
This involves applying information technologies for the promotion, development and implementation of electronic services for the benefit of citizens and businesses, especially SMEs.
Economic management procedures will be the first city in which to apply the new technology platform.
The challenges of establishing legal frameworks for new administrations in managing requirements, limits shorter and more open channels of communication and immediate.
The goal now is to make payments to suppliers in a maximum of 30 days, which is necessary to be in a position to exercise the powers of an agile and effective.

To set the stage, the City Council approved last September regulations providing the ability to accept electronic bills and a few days ago gave the nod to the e-Government Ordinance.
Once equipped with the legal to carry it out, the framework agreement signed today technologically linked to the City Council and the University of Murcia and includes free transfer of tools that support e-Government in particular portafirmas, provider portal, authentic copy service, and electronic auction services and document management file associated with the foregoing.
The first platform will be in use during the first half of 2013.
