The Department of Urban Cleaning and Waste Management, led by José Ros, will next year with a budget of 57 million euros.
Of this amount, 51 million euros will go to the Urban Cleaning, Waste Management and Treatment, while the rest will be invested in cleaning municipal buildings.
The Department committed to maintaining the same budget in 2012 without causing a decline in the quantity and quality of services and no loss of jobs.
José Ros recalled that labor accounts for 65% of the budget for street cleaning and 90% in indoor cleaning, and that it directly employs about a thousand people.
By 2013 the aim is to carry out a policy of redistribution of means and resources, so that they can do more work with the same budget.
The Department of Urban Cleaning and Waste Management has worked with all concessionaires to adjust costs.
The main lines of action in the service of cleaning, collection and treatment for the next year will be:
-Cleaning schedule change from night to day, to save costs and avoid nuisance to neighbors.
-Policy to reduce worker absenteeism and expenditure in this connection.
-Rethinking the investments made in the treatment plant, which does not offer deferring profitability.
-Set of complementary services and extraordinary (cleansing weekly markets, botelleo areas, etc).
As for the house cleaning service:
-Reorganization of the means of production in order to meet the new centers without imposing an additional cost.

The main projects for 2013 are:
