The Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation launched the project's another story, for Women Centers and Senior Centers in order to emphasize the figure of women who have had a social and cultural importance in neighborhoods and districts Murcia.
The Councillor for Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, explained that the work is to visualize that throughout history women have been so muted and women to acknowledge the municipality of Murcia anonymous during the twentieth century have broken stereotypes and participated in the social and economic growth of the municipality.
This project, included in the Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities, will be carried out thanks to the collaboration and partnership between Women Centres and Social Centres for the Elderly.
In this first phase will be launched in the districts of The New Javalí Puntar and, in the Santa Eulalia, San Juan and San Miguel San Antolin.
The first activity is the project includes a visit to the Museum of the City on Dec. 4.
The visit takes place from the perspective and historical participation of women in construction and economic development, cultural, political and social of the city of Murcia.
The project will culminate in an exhibition that will showcase the work done by these four groups and will provide motivation to other districts to do the same research and primarily for youth and child population known, valued and recognized the other story, starring in exclusively by the women of the village.
