The Department of Social Welfare and Health, directed Pelegrín Maria del Carmen, and the Department of Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, directed by Alicia Barquero, has developed an extensive program of outreach activities to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women, held on Friday 25 November.
The events begin tonight at 18 pm, with the opening of the exhibition 'Women Painters', for the paint shop Women's Center of Holy Angel, which is discussed in the Centro Municipal de El Carmen.
The exhibition will be open until the 30th of November, from 10 to 13 and from 17 to 20 hours.
On November 20 roundtable is planned 'Gender violence in women with disabilities', organized by the Federation Murciana Thader-consumption and the Housewives Association Thader.
It will be at 19.30 in the auditorium of the City Hall Annex building.
The events planned for November 23 are as follows:

1378 interventions in cases of violence against women
Municipal Team Care Violence Against Women (EMAVI) Murcia City Council has made so far this year 1378 GBV interventions (consultations, phone calls, etc.) and has attended 303 cases.
In the same period of 2011 interventions were attended by 1,512 and 326 cases of gender violence.
67% of women who have come to the municipal services are Spanish, followed by Morocco (9.24%), Ecuador (5.61%), Bolivia (5.28%) and Romania (1.98%).
As for the age of female patients, a 38.28% are between 30 and 40 years, a 25.74% between 40 and 50 years, and 17.16% between 20 and 30 years.
A 30.69% of the women served by the City has two children, a son 28.71% and 14.19% three children, who usually tend to be in charge.
Regarding the level of studies, 43.23% have primary education, secondary 31.68% and 18.48% just have studies.
A 38.94% is unemployed and does not charge any benefits, a 14.19% income is active income of insertion and 13.20% gainfully employed.
The 68.32% of women attending complaint lodged by domestic violence and 33% have a restraining order.
Of the victims, 43.89% receives legal and psychological assistance 19.80%.
As for the attackers, the 54.13% is the partner, former partner 36.30% and 5.28% groom.
The 81.85% do not live with them, and 18.15% live in the same place.
The 46.53% of female patients has reported physical and psychological abuse, the 19.80% 15.51% psychological and physical.
In addition, the city of Murcia has two shelters with capacity for 10 people.
So far this year have been received 6 women with 5 less in charge.
The age of women between 19 and 55 years.
Three were Romanian, two Spanish and one Nigerian.

The house is currently occupied by a woman and a child.

EMAVI consists of a coordinator, a legal adviser, a psychologist, three social educators and social worker, and has two shelters with a capacity for 10 people.
This team is responsible for the care of women affected by domestic violence issues, foster care for women and their children, when they risk situations, and outreach campaigns aimed at raising public awareness for prevention and eradication of violence against women .
Also, this municipal service is coordinated and works with the Regional and National attention on gender violence.
