style = "text-align: justify"> The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, has approached the European authorities in the field of transport infrastructure and to request the addition of Murcia as basic node Mediterranean Corridor Central Trans-European Network .
Thus it has been made known to the President of the Transport Committee of the European Parliament, Brian Simpson, director of Infrastructure and Transport, Jean-Eric Paquet, and Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner responsible for Transport of the European Commission, Siim Kallas.
Murcia Chamber recalled that since its inception is participating in the project of the Trans-European Network for Central considered vital for the north-south transport of goods and for economic development of Europe.
Since the network is defined as the union of the main urban nodes and ports, the Mayor believes Murcia as necessary to incorporate basic node Mediterranean corridor, since it meets the required criteria and groups from the Port of Cartagena to the south of Valencia and the northern suburbs, over a million inhabitants.
