The IU-Greens spokesman in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, has said that the municipal budget for 2013, the proposal was approved today by the Board of Directors and will be discussed at the plenary of the corporation on November 29, "nor social or promote employment."
Herguedas criticized the reduction of almost 18 million euros in investments in construction and arrangement, an amount that is "the result of the sum of the reductions in the departments of Public Works and Community Services and Infrastructure and Urban Quality".
He noted that most of these cuts will affect the districts, which lost 65 percent of the budget intended for this type of investment, which will have "a negative impact on the limited employment generated and the state government's urban municipality who continue to suffer progressive deterioration ".
He indicated that the statements of the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, which highlights the "social stress" budget, "do not translate into the reality of the figures, as when social needs increase lowers the money for services social and public services such as transport and sport ".
The mayor also expressed doubts about the revenue estimates that are computed in the amounts to be received either via tax as contributions from the state and the autonomous region, "although they are not mandatory tax and definitively approved budgets of the two administrations are still in the process of parliamentary process and therefore can be modified. "
With respect to the claims of the minister of finance in the consistory, Isabel Martinez, in praising the lowering of the tax burden, Herguedas said that "are merely the result of playing with the figures for the reduction of income because of the economic crisis and the reality is that the public will ever pay more in taxes, fees and public in essential services.
