The Councillor for Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin, presided this morning the City Commission Monitoring Gender Violence.
In the meeting, which was attended by the Councillors of Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez, and Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, we have studied the report of the Municipal Equipment Care Gender Violence (EMAVI).
EMAVI consists of a coordinator, a legal adviser, a psychologist, three social educators and social worker, and has two shelters with a capacity for 10 people.
This team is responsible for the care of women affected by domestic violence issues, foster care for women and their children, when they risk situations, and outreach campaigns aimed at raising public awareness for prevention and eradication of violence against women .
Also, this municipal service is coordinated and works with the Regional and National attention on gender violence.

The meeting presented the activities that will be held to mark the International Day Against Violence Against Women, November 25.
The City Commission Monitoring Gender Violence is composed of representatives of the departments of Social Welfare and Health, Sports, Youth and Tourism, Education, Security and Human Resources, Employment, Trade and Business, and Equality Policies and Development Cooperation .
Also includes representatives of five women's associations and other groups, a representative of the Bar Association, a representative of the College of Psychologists, a representative of the Association of Graduates Association, a representative of the Health Service Primary Care a representative of the Service to the National Police Family, a service representative EMUME Civil Guard, a representative of the Local Youth Council and a member of the municipal technical team EMAVI.
