This year marks the bicentennial of the Constitution of 1812, the first Spanish Constitution and one of the first in the world.
The Spanish village was first star of their own story, and the principles that inspired it: national sovereignty, separation of powers, parliamentary government, citizens' rights, freedoms, uniformity of laws ..., preside over 166 years later the Constitution currently we have the Spanish.
The University of Murcia, through the Vice President for University Extension and eGovernment, joins the celebration of this important event with a "Cycle commemorative bicentennial of the Constitution of 1812", which includes lectures and screening of several films and as an exhibition and presentation of a book, which will highlight how was the time when that Constitution was conceived, both in Spain and, especially, in the region of Murcia.
The cycle will begin on Friday, November 9, at 12:30 am in the Hall of degrees of law, with the presentation of the book: "The deputies Murcia in the Cortes of Cadiz. Region of Murcia and the 1812 Constitution "Vera Nicolas Pascual, to be presented by Francisco Celdran, President of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, José Antonio Gómez Cobacho, Rector of the University of Murcia and Tornel Francisco Calvo Garcia, Director of the Royal Academy Alfonso X the Wise, and by the author of the work.
The event will be presented by Professor cycle Luis Gálvez Muñoz, codirector of the cycle.
Subsequently, there will be a tour of the exhibition of the same title, hosted by the Joint Regional Assembly of Murcia-Real Academia Alfonso X the Wise, curated by Vera Pascual and coordinated by Ana M ª Martín Luque.
