Four major areas are to coordinate government municipal activity from December 1.

So this morning has been established by a decree reduced from five to four units of government coordination team.

The goal is to improve efficiency in the management of municipal resources and ensure coordination of services in order to provide better service to citizens.

This change modifies the Mayor signed agreement in June 2011, which established five departments:

-Unit Care for People

-Unit Community Services

- Employment Unit, Innovation and Economy

Unit-Institutional Relations and Government Affairs and

-Participation Unit and District

now pass:

-Area of ​​Social Policy, Employment, Cultural, sports and education, which will direct the Deputy Mayor of Health and Social Welfare, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin.

Coordinate the powers of Social Welfare and Health, Sports, Youth and Tourism, Culture, Employment, Trade and Business, Education and Equality Policies and Development Cooperation.

-Department of the Environment, Infrastructure, Land and Planning, coordinated by the Deputy Mayor for the Environment, Adela Martinez-Cachá.

It integrates the departments of Environment, Traffic and Transportation, Urban Quality and Infrastructure, Works and Community Services; Urban Cleaning and Waste Management and Planning and Housing.

-Area of ​​General Services, Human Resources and Decentralization led by the Deputy Mayor of Safety and Human Resources, Nuria Fuentes.

Encompasses the departments of Safety and Human Resources, Recruitment and Heritage, Institutional Relations, Markets, Consumption and Decentralization and District number 8.

-Area of ​​Finance, headed by the councilor of Finance, Isabel Martínez Conesa.
