The Romea Theatre of Murcia is hosting this Wednesday, Oct. 24, the representation of King Parrot and the Lady Eye, Diego Velázquez del Puerco, directed by Juan Dolores Caballero.
The performance, which will be held at 21 am, has two elements that you particularly like his director: his commitment to the ugliness, the grotesque characters and text retrieval forgotten.
The ticket prices are 15, 12 and 9 euros
The King and Lady eyed Perico is the story of these forgotten characters in the chamber of our imagination and memory, they live as humans have been "deposited", and held away from the "normal" or "conventional" non our daily lives but yet are and live with us.
It is a proposal where the grotesque as opposition is able to gather in one place animals impossible, hard to find items in nature, and gather here under the baton of ugliness and visual lyricism accompanied by a world of black humor.
This approach is developed in its own history of Golden Age theater.
An heir to a kingdom, a forced lady, a wedding, love and hate, jealousy, war and captivity ...
in short, the ability to orchestrate an action where the characters fight, speak in public square as they say phrases, insult and sexual and scatological references suggest, without understanding suffering a continuous process of degradation than mere figures becomes ridiculous .
Thus, if beauty was one of the main attributes of the plot of the comedy of the Golden Age, in our play we find it, the beauty, talks about a one-eyed or lame, a world "nonsense" and "unconscionable" that conflicts with the "rational" and "composure", but with a particularity, the public would end up loving these forgotten characters in the chamber of our imagination and now belong to your daily life.
