Story of a disappointment
The French invasion and the May 2, the Inquisition and the farce, the tune, the string, Harlequin, Pulcinella, Colombina, a drunken dwarf, the Duchess of Alba and, above all, Goya, are the protagonists of the play.
According to the director, Nieves Pérez-Abad, the main character is a tired old Goya, judged by the characters portrayed by himself in one of his works.
"We wanted to paint a giant-says-stage picture with the character of Francisco de Goya except as interlocutor between Spain at that time and that inhabit us."
