The Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation and the Department of Health and Social Welfare has launched a project to promote gender equality in higher associations.
The hamlet of Lobosillo part in the pilot of this initiative is to support and stimulate major associations and establish Commissions for Equality between men and women through an activity of cultural diffusion that includes gender.
The activity takes place between sections of Older Women and the City of Murcia and the programming consists of a cinema-themed women's forum aimed at different segments of the population to show the status and position of women in the different stages of life: childhood and youth, maturity and retirement.
It aims to create awareness among seniors about the need for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence.
A senior centers and major associations will propose the creation of the Equality Commission of the center to ensure the implementation of the gender perspective in the activities organized in the Social Centre for the Elderly.
The film club is for members of Senior Centers, Centers for Women and all persons interested, as it is a free activity.
This project began as a pilot in Lobosillo in June and will continue until December, in order to implement it in the 76 remaining senior centers during 2013.
This afternoon, at 17 hours, held a film session-forum at the Senior Center of the hamlet.
