Collaboration in research and clinical practice from the University of Murcia and Centrofama Eye Clinic is the subject of the agreement signed at the headquarters of the Rectory of the educational institution.
By this agreement, the Clinic Centrofama available to University facilities and means of diagnosis and treatment for the development of research projects, mainly in the field of refractive surgery.
The agreement, signed by the president, José Antonio Cobacho, and clinic manager, Ramon Megías also includes the participation of university staff in clinical care practiced therein.
The collaboration of the University of Murcia is done through the University Clinic of Integral Vision (CUVI), whose director, Professor Edmund Usón, said that this agreement, which will benefit from the training, serves both to pool technology, such as opening new lines of inquiry.
Megías Ramon, meanwhile, has emphasized that the technology made available to researchers CUVI is present in very few eye centers in Europe.
To the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, collaboration with companies is "vital" and has criticized those who say universities are disconnected from society and the business world.
