Have participated in the drawing competition all students who previously participated in the local stage and were featured in one of ten prizes of those contests.
In total, 320 schools, representing 65% of the 45 municipalities in the region were involved in this year's competition.
To determine the winners, the jury took into account how they are reflected in the work of the risks to which they are subjected students 5th grade and their parents and best practices that can be taken to avoid them.
Among the risks reflected by scholars have highlighted the risks of domestic accidents: thermal contacts (ovens, stoves), toxic chemicals (cleaning products), falls on the same level (wet or dirty floors) and falls at different levels (inadequate access a bookcase or high places), electrical contacts in damp or wet (dryers, stereos).
It also reflected the risks for skin burns by sun exposure and preventive measures, as well as road safety (collision with pedestrians, no seat belt and helmet skateboarding), entrapment risks tipping goals in sports areas, risks Improper handling of loads (excessive weight in the backpack, incorrect transport backpack, etc).
The contest "Grow Security" aims to instill in students 10 to 11 years the need to assess the risks to safety and health in all aspects of life but, particularly, in the environment in which unfold.
To do this, the students and their teachers attend briefings on common accidents to which they are exposed (falling down stairs, burns, poisoning, slip in the shower, danger of stoves, etc.), Emphasizing the problems of back caused by poor posture in the chair and the wrong way to carry the backpack.
The aim of the campaign is to make prevention is taken into account as an asset and create a lifestyle preventive from young so that when they become workers or entrepreneurs are rooted knowledge.
