Constantine Sotoca highlights the efforts of the Regional Government to further improve the educational infrastructure network
The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, along with the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, today laid the foundation stone of a new school in the village of El Raal, to replace the current CEIP Our Lady of Sorrows and with an investment of over three million.
Sotoca said "this is a project and an important investment that not only responds to the need to improve the existing site, but will also respond to the needs of the area's future schooling."
The new center will have 18 units, six of kindergarten and 12 primary, with a total capacity of 450 seats.
It will be divided into three modules: one for students in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and other administrative services, and a third module which will be located a gym, multipurpose rooms and cafeteria.
The time limit for completion of the work is about 12 months, so the new center will be operational, predictably, for the course 2013-2014.
The Minister recalled that the Regional Administration has invested so far this year more than 3.7 million in various improvement works in the municipality of Murcia, among which are the extension of the CEIP Our Lady of Fuensanta Beniaján, the IES extension Junterón Gil, Beniel, extending six classrooms at the IES Alfonso X, or the construction of new classrooms at IES IES Bachelor Cascales and Fleet.
To Sotoca, these investments are "another example of our commitment to education and to the future of these districts and the municipality of Murcia".
