The San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) and Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco of the Mexican United States recently signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of establishing synergies between the two institutions in research, both in terms of projects as to teacher education programs.
In addition, research also worth noting that the UCAM has been a Research Thematic Network of Food Science and Technology, to which also belong on the international leading universities.
The agreement's main objective is to facilitate scientific exchange and advice between the two institutions in terms related to teaching, research and management and transfer of results of research activity.
Similarly, in terms of specific actions, the agreement will allow the development and the coordinated development of research projects, collaboration in the development of projects of scientific and technical research under contract and conducting joint development of specialized training programs or exchange of researchers, among other things.
Notably, the agreement was signed by the rector of the Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco of the Mexican United States, José Manuel Piña, and the president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza.
Research Thematic Network on Food Science and Technology
The Catholic University of Murcia has become, along with other universities and research centers and the Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela, Colombia Antioquia University, the Metropolitan Autonomous University Mexico, Querétaro Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez, and Juarez Autonomous University of Tabasco Mexico, a Thematic Network for Research in Science and Food Technology.
As stated by the Vice President for Research of the UCAM, Estrella Nunez, the intention of the network is both creating new training programs, such as the development of research projects.
"As the first activity of the Network, will develop the research project entitled:" Study of bioactive principles from indigenous sources in the humid tropics of importance to food security and nutrition of the population, "he explained Estrella.
