Education Councilwoman Maria Dolores Sanchez, presided this morning the last Schooling Commission, which oversees the admissions process upperclassmen Infant and Primary Education public and private schools in the municipality.
The whole deal has been of 2,325 seats (93 units) in 56 centers.
The Commission was established on March 12 and held 10 plenary meetings and 32 working committees.
Its members have been appointed by the Department of Planning and Education, and is formed by the Councillor for Education, the school principals and Jesus and Mary Peñafiel Cierva, Cierva teachers Herma and Peñafiel, presidents of colleges AMPAS Luis Costa and Jesus and Mary, two inspectors from the Ministry of Education and a municipal representative.
The functions of the Commission is monitoring the student admissions process, ensuring compliance with the rules governing this process, the Commission propose Schooling Coordinator measures they deem appropriate to carry out the equitable distribution of students booking plaza, checking that all collaborating centers therein; advise families or guardians, and students, as appropriate, on the admission process in schools supported by public funds and settle claims that may arise against provisional list of the extraordinary phase.
So far, the Commission has considered the cases of three-year pupils with special educational needs, assigning 44 students to 28 schools and 12 applications and submitting opinions to the Commission specific schooling, has conducted a study and expansion units sent a report of needs and changing ratios of units and planning services, has conducted an analysis of the cases of children under 3 years without square in the center than their siblings to family reunification, processing 13 applications for 8 centers, also is working on the clustering of early childhood brothers 4 and 5 years and primary education, 97 applications were received from 37 centers.
The Commission has addressed the concerns of the families in person and by phone and has the resources and answered written requests.
It cooperates closely with the management teams of schools and the Planning of the Ministry of Education.
After the last award of September 6 was launched to meet the extraordinary phase of applicants who did not get regular phase space or who were on waiting lists.
They have personally attended and advised parents and / or guardians and have been advised as their family needs and the different possibilities depending on the vacancies.
They have treated more than 240 applicants, have enrolled a total of 222 students, 143 are enrolled directly by the Commission and 79 to the same proposal.
Also have solved each of the resources and clarifications requested in writing.
The Commission has drafted an incident report and suggestions for improvement of the schooling process, which has now been presented at the last meeting to all members and to be forwarded to the Directorate General of Centers.
