Mayor delivers diplomas Camera Professional Qualification Program.
The City Council has signed this summer to 94 internship agreements with companies in the municipality.
The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, has delivered this morning diplomas Personal Qualification Program to 157 Township youth, aged between 16 and 20 years who were unemployed.
Murcia City Council is aware of the importance of training as a vehicle for individual and labor market integration, has been conducting programs of this nature, for young people.
To date, 162 have completed professional profiles about 2360 students.
Groups of year 2011/2012, with a ratio of 15 students each, were organized around eight professional profiles: Electrotechnical Installations and Communications, Welding and Metal Construction (2 groups), Cooking, Hairdressing, Aesthetics, Commerce, Plumbing-HVAC (2 groups) and Vehicle Maintenance (2 groups).
The goal of these programs is that students achieve professional competences of a Level 1 qualification, the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications, and provide the possibility of a satisfactory employment or further studies in the different teachings.
The event was also attended by the Councillor for Employment, Trade and Business, José María Tortosa, the Director General of Vocational and Adult Education, María Begoña Iniesta, and representatives of business organizations and companies that have collaborated on work practices of students.
The Vocational Training Program is an alternative for students who leave compulsory secondary education without qualifications.
Practice Modules
Vocational Training programs can last up to two years.
The first year, which lasts for one academic year is taught in secondary education centers, municipalities and associations of municipalities, private business entities and nonprofit.
It taught general training modules related to curriculum content of the first cycle of compulsory secondary education and specific modules aimed at acquiring skills of selected professional qualification, plus a module on workplace practices, with 150 hours.
Murcia City Council, for the development of these practices, this summer signed 94 cooperation agreements with companies in the municipality of Murcia for students to have their first experience in a real work setting.
The Vocational Training Program of the City of Murcia is developed in training centers and employment initiatives that the Department led by José María Tortosa has in Murcia and El Palmar.
The keys to the success of this program lies in creating a real working environment, with rules, schedules and security measures that are assimilated to a workplace and reduce the ratio to 15 students per class, allowing really teaching is individualized, the only way to achieve educational reintegration.
As for the results, of the 157 students enrolled in the program have completed a placement 142, having passed all training modules 118 (75.15%).
In addition, 108 students (91.52%) were enrolled in the 2nd year of professional qualifications in a secondary school or Adult Education, in order to continue their studies and obtain the Diploma in ESO.
