The University of Murcia will from now with a Research Institute of Optics and Nanophysics and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Communications Oriented, according to the resolution of the Autonomous published today in the Official Gazette Region (BORM).

The agreement indicates that these new centers "intended to create functional structures that allow the joint activity of teachers and researchers from different areas of knowledge, facilitating collaborative activities related to both the field of optics and nanophysics as ICT oriented".

The institutes, which are now supported by the Autonomous Community, were approved by the Governing Council of the University in October 2011 and January 2012.

Furthermore, its implementation had the favorable report of the Interuniversity Council of the Region of Murcia, given at its plenary meeting on 23 July.
