The Socialist Party rejects the new cut on the lines of public transportation districts (07/09/2012)

Socialist Party spokesman, Pedro Lopez, says the new proposal from the Ministry of Public Works for the lines connecting Murcia with the districts actually means "more cuts and more patches on a model that has proved totally ineffective."

"Remains unaddressed actual rearrangement, announcing new lines when it really does is merge with others that are deleted and thus can never build anything reasonable," says Lopez.

"As an example of this we find the new line that will go from 78 to Campus Beniaján via La Arrixaca (the result of joining the 27 and the 38). Need direct routes connecting through the districts with the strategic points of the city but doing reasonable, with no runs over an hour, "says the Socialist councilor.

Lopez argues that "this cut, no rearrangement, is more focused on the mistreatment of citizens, especially in districts and will increase the social divide between certain areas and the city center."

Moreover, in general the frequencies are going to step worsened and towns like Santiago and Zaraiche, Ermita del Rosario or center Aljucer remain offline with public transport.

Lopez recalls that the allegations presented by the PSOE, the only party that collected the demands of the residents, included an express rejection of the cuts.

The mayor also requires political representatives who are sensitive to the current situation of citizens and understand that public transport is not only a service to users, but also defines a model municipality, territorially represents and promotes economic development and social.

"Decisions can not be made solely on thinking economic profitability of the service, but also in the social profitability of public transport," the Socialist spokesman.

In addition, "we still expect a meeting between the Community and the City Council with the company and are Latbus for over three weeks pedanías travelers are paying 2.15 euros for each ticket and still unable to use savings bonds," concludes Socialist spokesman.
