The Commission for Gender Equality of the City of Murcia has launched in the first six months of the year 70 measures, through the development of 97 specific actions to ensure effective gender equality and combating gender violence.
The Commission relies on the Department of Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, headed Alicia Barquero.
Among the measures include information on women in the municipality of social and legal, technical advice to women's associations; attention to women victims of gender violence prevention education and gender violence among the population youth, and training and employment promotion for women or at risk of social exclusion among others.
All these initiatives will continue doing after the summer.
Within this project, the Center Township Women have made lots of activities to mark the International Women's Day (March 8) and equal sport, woman sets, equal environment, literary contest, Equality award in Murcia in Business and Sport, etc.
Actively collaborating on this project the Councils Equality Policies, Employment, Youth, Education, Health, Social Services, Culture, and Heritage Hall security of Murcia.
Also, from September the initiative will work in 'The Other Story', coordinated by the Department of Equality Policies and Development Cooperation and with the participation of the Centers for Women and senior centers, with the aim of role to women in the municipality that over the last century have participated meaningfully in the economy and culture of our city.
There will be presentations on this topic.
Also after the summer, different association movements of the municipality may apply for participation in the Municipal Council of Equality.
