Cattle Fair of Murcia comes of age this year with the presence of traditional commercial firms, exhibitions and competitions.
Open its doors on August 30, on the campus of The Azacaya, with the entry of cattle to the site and the distribution of pens, and will officially open Friday, Aug. 31, at 19.30, by the Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Angel House.
The Fair will close its doors on Sunday, September 2.
Access is free, from 10 to 14, and 17 to 24 hours.
The Councillor for Culture, Rafael Gomez and Director of the Cattle Fair, Santiago Lidón, presented this morning this event which is the origin of the Feria de Murcia, established by Alfonso X the Wise in the thirteenth century.
Its long tradition was broken during the fifties to be reborn, stronger, 18 years ago.
Visitors will find animals of all kinds, traditional commercial firms utensils, clothing, food, agricultural machinery, and a host of activities such as exhibitions and contests.
Also, it may provide copies of breeds like the cow-Levantina Murciano, flat native chicken Murcia and Murcia; sample of carriages and exhibition and sale of pets.
Among the main activities is the canary contest, dog training exhibitions, Murcia native chicken contest and execution of gallops.
On the eighteenth largest Cattle Fair is held on Sunday, September 2, with the Day of the Horse.
Participants will leave in their carriages and horses in a parade starting from 10.30 am from The Azacaya, with the following route: carreterea Beniaján-direction of Murcia for the speck of the river, bridge Fica, Avenida Mayor Jorge Palacios, Paseo de Garay, Lieutenant Flomesta, Gran Via, Maestro Alonso, Santa Clara and Alfonso X the Wise.
Participants will continue walking by Alfonso X and offered free samples of snacks, beer and juices to the public.
Will also receive the distinction 'Golden Horse' at the Councillor for Culture, Rafael Gomez.
This award is the highest distinction of the Cattle Fair is awarded to institutions or individuals for their support of the Fair.
