San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) organized by the Instituto Brasileiro Capitais Markets (Ibmec), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the Sakai Foundation, the First Latin American Congress of Sakai, an event to be held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from 16 to 18 October 2012.
The conference is aimed at any university or organization that is using Sakai and want to expand their knowledge, recent developments and future trends on this platform.
Sakai is a virtual learning platform Learning Management System (LMS). To be constructed and maintained by their own community.
Since its birth in 2004 in U.S. universities (created by the Massachusetts Institute Technology, Stanford, Michigan and Indiana), has been expanding by such prestigious universities as Yale Anglo-Saxon, Oxford and Cambridge, among others, thereby becoming the platform favorite online training in the best universities worldwide.
In the Latin American area as there are institutions concerning the Virtual University of Guadalajara, the National Autonomous University and the Universidad Latina in Mexico, the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, the National University of Colombia and the Universidad de la Empresa (CEIPA) in Colombia.
