Murcia renews its ordinance regulating street in order to create spaces which accommodate their different uses.

After months of meetings with Hostemur, as well as various neighborhood associations involved and the result of consensus, the Board has been able to study this morning the draft ordinance regulating the occupation of the terraced streets and other facilities, which will have approved at Full Council.

The aim is to improve the attractiveness of tourism of the municipality, while favoring the business of hospitality industry and improving the local break.

Among the issues addressed in the document include the following:

Generally identifies zones of pedestrian crossing that can not be occupied by the furniture of the terraces at the same time that in certain urban areas emblematic places such as the St. John, Christ's Rescue, Perez Casas, environment Santa Catalina and Las Flores, Santo Domingo and Belluga provide guidelines that will preserve its uniqueness and charm giving them an aesthetic that best suits your needs and those of the city.

The bars and restaurants with terraces of these areas may receive a tax credit of 50% if applying for the special management plan of the environment.

Another point to note is that prices do not increase the rates paid by establishments, rounded down.

Similarly, and to ensure local break times will be reduced in certain months of the year, as they have requested various neighborhood associations.

Thus, the bars close half an hour earlier in winter.

This ordinance also amend the authorizations granted terraces per square meter, in addition to establishing freedom of furniture, while maintaining a consistent aesthetic with the environment.

To grant permissions to the terraces are no longer permitted tables and chairs with specific dimensions (now 80 by 80 inches), but each will have its local space by placing tables with the most convenient measures, provided that no more than square meters granted permission.

It has also been argued that the distance from the terraces to the facades will have to be 1.50 meters to the pedestrian crossing and 3 meters for the passage of emergency vehicles.

This ordinance will prohibit anchoring awnings and umbrellas, while preference is given to front awning umbrellas, as they take up more space in public and limit the access of emergency vehicles and pedestrians.

At night time, the innkeepers will pick up chairs and tables out of the path and keep a friendly aesthetic environment.
