230 university students in Spain participate in the XIII National Meeting of Mathematics (ENEM), held from 23 to 29 July at the Merced campus of the University of Murcia.

During the conference, some of the popularizers of mathematics in the country, as Raul Ibanez, director of Divulgamat website, and Miguel Angel Morales Medina, author of the blog Gaussian, give lectures in a program open to all ages.

"The goal of the meetings is to unite students of Mathematics in Spain to share the situation of our faculties and seek solutions to common problems, as well as serving to establish networks before obtaining a diploma," said Jaime Sanchez Fernandez , coordinator of the conference.

"We want to make society better understand the group of students of mathematics and its role in the future social, enterprising, work and teaching," said Jaime Sanchez of the National Association of Mathematics (NAMI), which organizes the meetings by thirteenth consecutive year.

These and other claims have served to attract more students into math than ever.

"This year we reached the 234 participants, so this is the issue with more attendees in the history of the meetings," says the organizer.

Furthermore, although the days are students of mathematics, the contents of the lectures and workshops are tailored so that they can be easily understood by anyone who wants to approach any of the activities.

The program also includes recreational activities to offer more relaxed space where students can meet and enjoy the beach, landscapes and cuisine of the region of Murcia.

Moreover, in this edition of ENEM lay the basis of the agreement between the National Association of Mathematics and the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME) in order to work together in the future.

The organizing committee of the conference, which opened Monday in the auditorium of the University of Murcia, is formed by Jaime Sanchez Fernandez, Pedro Vicente López Ban ~ O'N, Mikel González and Eve Primo Tárraga Merino, students of Mathematics Spanish cities.
