Agents of the National Police assigned to the District Commissioner Carmen, have arrested a man 40 years old and a Spanish national, on suspicion of several robberies with violence and intimidation in different parts of Murcia city, intimidating and assaulting his victims in their vehicles when they were stopped at traffic lights.
The incident took place on the afternoon of July 18, when agents of the Commissariat of Carmen attended a requirement for a driver who said he had been burgled by a man who had introduced into his vehicle by the door back and threaten her with a screwdriver after he had taken his wallet.
Moments after officials learned of another similar event the previous one, with another woman attacked in the same circumstances and a few blocks away.
This time, the assailant had even carried his victim's vehicle to leave a few minutes later.
Given what happened, the officers mounted an intensive search device in the area, making proceeding to identify the suspect and his arrest within minutes after the incident and in an area close to the commission of the facts.
Subsequent research has allowed the detainee to prove the involvement of at least two other robberies committed between 17 and 18 July.
The modus operandi used by the assailant was always the same; attacked conductive advantage that your vehicle was stopped at traffic lights or gas station and threatened or assaulted women to seize the bag or purse.
In one case a victim struggled with the assailant and managed to get away from him hitting with the heel of one shoe.
The detainee who is charged with offenses of robbery with violence and intimidation was brought before the Magistrate's Court Guard of Murcia on 19 July.
