Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, held this morning a meeting with the Office of Accessibility, composed of representatives of ONCE, Famdif, Aspaym, and municipal officers, to make known to the associations and federations people with disabilities the renovation being carried out in the square in Europe.
The representatives of the associations have provided suggestions on accessibility plan first and then the spot, accompanied by municipal technicians responsible for the work.
Among other measures, we have studied the inclination of the ramp and placement of handrails, the height of the stair treads, installing slip strips on the stairs, railing placement and proper signage.
All these proposals to improve accessibility of the square is taken into account when performing the work.
The goal, explained the City Council, is to make public spaces more accessible and remove architectural barriers so you can easily access the whole population.
