The journal Human Reproduction, published by Oxford University, has devoted the cover of its July issue to a research group's work in Physiology of Reproduction, University of Murcia, which is described for the first time the function exercises plasminogen-plasmin system in the process of fertilization.
The possible applications that the description of this new mechanism may have in the clinical setting is one of the points on the research published in the magazine, whose cover includes three-dimensional reconstruction images of oocytes fertilized and unfertilized from samples labeled with immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy observed.
The article is signed by Coy Pilar Fuster, senior researcher in the group, Maria Movilla Jimenez, Francisco Alberto Garcia Vazquez, Irene Mondéjar Corbalan, Luis Grullon and Raquel Romar Yunén Andrew, and has enjoyed the cooperation of Fara Saez Belmonte Service Support for University Research in the image analysis work.
