A total of eleven tunas from Spain, Mexico and Portugal participate in the XVI edition of the International Competition of Tunas "Barrio del Carmen", which will be held on 5, 6 and 7 July at the Artillery Barracks.
The Tunas contest organized by the Tuna Universitaria de Murcia District-1912 and sponsored by the city of Murcia and the University of Murcia, El Corte Ingles, Estrella Levante, Bodegas Juan Gil, The Envious, Andalusian Parliament and Coca-Cola, not only take the music to this site, but its participants, a total of 400, will make rounds through the streets of the city Murcia inviting you to join this great event.
Admission is free and every night there will aways for all attendees.
The two prizes awarded by the Contest have been awarded this year in the singer Manolo Escobar, as Grand Master, and the journalist Monica Martinez, Godmother.
Manolo Escobar also will be the star of the show special this year.
A great tribute concert with more than 70 musicians on stage, and with the participation of the musical group of Beniaján, Carlos Vargas, Natalia Mellado, Earl and Marian honoree himself.
Renowned painter Jose Maria Murcia.
Falgas is the author of the bill this year, having left their particular world view with its distinctive student.
The contest will be seen live via the Internet thanks to support from the University of Murcia.
