The rector of the University of Murcia, Jose Antonio Cobacho, opened today, Thursday, June 21 at the Faculty of Economics and Business, salon grade "Maria Teresa Perez Picazo," in tribute to this teacher, who died last September.

Maria Teresa Perez Picazo was Professor of Economic History at the University of Murcia, president of the Spanish Association of Economic History and in 2008 the government awarded him the Gold Medal for Merit in Work.

Pérez Picazo's research, which was also a deputy in the Assembly of the Region of Murcia, focused mainly on agricultural history and regional economic history.

The event was attended various academic authorities, and numerous friends and relatives of the teacher.
