A doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Murcia has stressed in its conclusions the roots and the importance that bullfights are popular in many villages of the region and its socioeconomic impact.
The doctoral thesis by Fulgencio Fernández Buendia, President of the College of Veterinary Surgeons, discusses various shows of this kind taking place in the Region of Murcia and the evolution over the years.
The research looks more closely at the bulls before the fight of the bulls and the bulls loose and closures that are not followed by a subsequent fighting.
Also studies the rules governing these shows, subjects compared to the one in force in other regions.
The dissertation was supervised by professors of that faculty José Antonio Rouco, Candido Gutierrez and Juan Seva.
