The socialist mayor Jose Zapata asked on Thursday morning plenary municipal PP assume its responsibility as a government and, protected by technical criteria, constitutes a committee to develop strategies to tackle the problem of street prostitution without further delay and to transfer to other administrations of the findings, urging them to act within its own competence.
This time, Zapata refers to El Carmen, where prostitution is moving to downtown areas of the district, which is causing great concern among neighbors and in the educational communities of both schools concluded the area where sex is being offered the street in broad daylight.
AMPAS representatives expressed their dissatisfaction with these circumstances, getting to be a case of sexual solicitations to parents even in the presence of their minor children.
It continues the PSOE mayor, must take into account other factors such as the risk to which people are subjected to prostitution in the streets, especially at night and in marginal environments; that the quality of life neighbors is being eroded, as well as area businesses that are looking resentful activity for these reasons.
To the mayor of the PSOE, is crucial to address the issue, to discuss this and put it on the table, as the local government has an important part of responsibility, especially if one considers that this activity is developing in public.
Likewise, Zapata asked in Parliament that the development of a plan of regeneration and urban renewal in the neighborhood of El Carmen, in collaboration with other public authorities, to meet the needs of residents, businesses and educational communities, and improved image environment for travelers arriving in the city from the train station of El Carmen.
