The Department of Social Welfare and Health, which runs María del Carmen Pelegrin, is celebrating this week a series of activities to prevent obesity and smoking, on the occasion of the commemoration of National Nutrition Day and World No Snuff.
This morning, Pelegrin has participated in the health food shop that has been done in the classroom cuisine of the Veronicas Market Square, and was intended for members of the senior center and The Arboleja Vistalegre.
The workshop focused on the preparation of various recipes of Mediterranean diet products for children, has been attended by representatives of the Unit of Nutrition and Dietetics General Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia.

Meanwhile, Pelegrin has indicated that the Mediterranean diet is essential to maintain a healthy and balanced diet to prevent different diseases.
Also, responsible for Health and Social Welfare has also pointed out that the workshop devote to higher aims to make it easier for grandparents (who today are engaged in a great deal of time caring for their grandchildren) easy to make recipes, appealing to younger and healthier.
