Over 20 hours of music for tolerance and racial mixing in the Feast of the Three Cultures (25/05/2012)

The Murcia Three Cultures Festival comes to a great quote from mixing tolerance and the celebration of the Feast of the Three Cultures, in this new edition, with the participation of numerous musicians, singers and dancers from many different countries and cultures who occupy the squares and streets of the city of Murcia since this afternoon (at 20:30), at 24 am tomorrow Saturday, May 26.

This massive feast, in which Queen Music coexistence of different styles and traditions, will involve the following artists and groups: Nabila Ensemble, Azarbe, Alma Trio Fado, Dobet Gnahoré, Aduf & José Salgueiro and Joseph Peixoto, Tua, Trivium Klezmer , Yliana Labrada, Sun and Earth, Goran Slavich, Roxana Río, Sara Gonçalves, Mavra Froudia, Odessa, Gospel and Soul Band & Djilandiang Camut.

Portugal is the guest in the thirteenth edition of the Festival Murcia Three Cultures, in which we have tried to strengthen ties with neighboring and historically close, with which there is a brotherhood and a number of cultural affinities.

Another reason for this choice is the fact that the fado, the music style that best embodies the Portuguese fatalism, has been declared by UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity, recognizing its value as an expression of cultural identity of a people .

In this edition you will see that the fado genre is not a static but is constantly evolving, with new performers and mergers with other styles.

Although attached to its roots, the Portuguese music is present in most modern trends, and it is this aspect that the festival seeks to deepen, showing the diversity of music today Lusa.

Within this section on Portuguese artists, Plaza Belluga host one of the most spectacular productions this year: Aduf, Aduf starring Luso group of the same name with the participation of musicians José Salgueiro and José Peixoto and guest singer Mary Berasarte.

Inspired by the ritualistic percussion from Asia, the focus of this action are four timbrels: instruments made with cowhide in a ring of cedar and chestnut, whose size has been increased for the occasion to eight feet.

These dimensions transform the original sound timid in a severe earthquake, like a storm, giving the show a huge theatrical force.

The music and dance of Africa will also be represented in this edition, which has several performances by artists from the continent.

The singer, dancer and percussionist from the Ivory Coast, Dobet Gnahoré has inherited the strength of traditions 'Bete' and African, but their compositions are also impregnated with sounds of jazz.

The concert Djekpa The You is a good opportunity to enjoy the powerful and vital energy of this artist, whose voice, charisma and strong presence, nurtured by years of theatrical and choreographic work, seduce the viewer.
