The local residents of Los Rosales of El Palmar 280 planted plants this afternoon in the streets and lawns of the neighborhood within the initiative "Okupa Garden ', which encourages participation and respect for public spaces in the municipality of Murcia.
The Councillor for Environment, Adela Martinez-Cachá, participated in the planting with neighbors and children of the Social Action Center of El Palmar.
The plantation is organized by the Federation of Neighbourhood Associations of the Municipality of Murcia.
This is to regenerate public spaces by planting native plants and flowers.
The activity will be repeated tomorrow, from 17.30.
The purpose of this is to recover residual urban spaces and involve the locals, so they feel responsible for their work and in turn convey the respect, solidarity and participation, and respect to the maintenance of urban public spaces.
Adela Martinez-Cachá, accompanied by the chairman of the Joint Muncipal of El Palmar, Diego Lopez, and technicians of the Department of Environment, visited the gardens of La Paz and La Paloma, to see first hand the status of these areas green.
