Mayor Antonio Valencia delivers a distinction for his contribution to recycling in Murcia
The Garden of Floridablanca has now become the epicenter of recycling in Murcia and have followed him all day environmental-themed activities, workshops and games for families.
It was the method chosen by the city of Murcia and the concessionaire of this service, Cespa, to commemorate World Recycling Day is celebrated today.
Games made with recovered materials easily identifiable, a large mural, a giant bucket in which to write messages about the environment and various workshops have been the proposal designed to celebrate this day.
It is "to take this time to remove our ecological awareness and remember the importance of properly treating waste to not contribute to climate change and protect the environment," said the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, who has visited this Garden Floridablanca morning accompanied by the Councillor for Urban Cleaning and Waste Management, Joseph Ros, and Director of Urban Services Cespa Murcia, Antonio Igualada.

Ten years of collection
The City, through the Department of Urban Cleaning and Waste Management has made a clear commitment to provide the Murcia to work with this goal.

The evolution of the packaging has also been significant: from 5.2 K / person / year to 9.8 in 2011.
Finally, Murcia deposited in the first year of collection 11.6 k / hb / year and 12.9 last year.
Personal contribution to the recycling
The celebration of World Recycling was the date chosen by the City and Cespa to establish the prize awarded to the person or entity that stands out for its contribution to recycling in Murcia.
In this first issue, the Mayor has delivered the commemorative plaque to Antonio Valencia Rubio, City Council official assigned to street cleaning service in the last 20 years and whose dedication and continuous effort possible to launch the collection service.

Between 1982 and 1993 he was assigned to Emuasa and then played his work in various municipal services such as architectural design office, industrial, traffic, transport and street cleaning, which has been in recent years.
Also, between 2003 and 2011 combined his professional career with his public service as a member of the Municipal Board of Barrio del Carmen.
