UM Human Bodies exhibition and signed this morning, with local and regional authorities, a partnership-breaking research, which the nearly 200 pieces in the sample will be donated to the UM at the end of his life narrative.
The more than 170 vital organs and 12 complete human bodies that make up Human Bodies will assist in the training of future health care professionals at the University of Murcia.
17/05/2012.- The University of Murcia (UM) and the Human Bodies exhibition, installed at the Mall Thader until next October 14, 2012, have signed this morning, during its official opening to authorities, an agreement which nearly 200 human organs and whole bodies in the sample will be donated to the University at the end of his life narrative, a grant, from a scientific and educational unprecedented worldwide.
The event was attended by the Councillor of Institutional Relations and First Deputy Mayor of Murcia Ayto.de Joaquin Moya-Angeler, the citizen Dir.General Care, Drug Dependence and Consumption in the Region of Murcia, Juan Manuel Ruiz and Vice- Dean of Research and Internationalization UM Berruezo Gaspar Ros, among others.
Through this collaboration, all the pieces of Human Bodies will continue its service to science and education in the classrooms of the UM (whose facilities have been plastinated five pieces), which will assist in the training of future Health professionals in the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
As explained by Professor and researcher at the UM and Dir.Científico Human Bodies, Rafael Latorre, "without a doubt, the availability of these bodies as real and assumed a teaching resource for health professionals of tomorrow a unique opportunity to impact positively on their education. "
"This type of material is a valuable complement not only in basic training but also in its clinical application by specialty," he added.
Meanwhile, the President of Musealia, the creator of Human Bodies exhibition, Jesus Ferreiro, stressed that "we must not forget that thanks to this collaboration, they will benefit hundreds of patients alive."
Bodies Human will be open on the first floor of CCThader until 14 October.

HUMAN BODIES AND HEALTH PROMOTION
Human Bodies, lit by Musealia in collaboration with the teaching staff of Procidis (makers of the series 'Once upon a time'), whose main objective is to raise awareness worldwide of the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The Process of Plastination
As the Dr. Rafael Latorre, Scientific Director of the exhibition, Plastination "is a process of several weeks or months, where liquids and adipose tissue of the organs are slowly replaced by a polymer under vacuum and freezing ".
Since the creation of the exhibition in 2008, UM, where he develops his work has been the principal research assistant, next to the Universities of Extremadura and Tennessee and the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery Usón Jesus.
Thanks to this initial agreement, UM has provided scientific advice to the sample, ensuring scientific excellence and pedagogical approach.
The renovation and extension of the agreement, signed at the event, reaffirms the strong relationship between both institutions and allow all the exhibits are always educational and scientific use.
Meanwhile, the bodies and organs are exposed in the sample, mostly of Asian origin and five of them have been plastinated on the premises of the University of Murcia.
Authorities donate these pieces (from unidentified deceased persons) scientific and educational purposes to various Asian universities, which are responsible for performing the process of plastination.
