The Segura basin is complete environmental restoration works of the Rambla del Carmen, in the hamlet of Murcia Cabezo de Torres, which aim to prevent the risk of flooding and an investment of 1,112,113 euros, provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) and co-financed with FEDER funds from the European Union.
The action allows the maintenance of the hydraulic capacity of the channel, and reducing erosion of the bed and slopes of the gully, and was run on a stretch of 2.2 kilometers long, between the junction on the A- 7 and the road connecting the towns of the strut and Churra.
The work has involved the defense and protection of the banks through the installation of seawalls and gabion walls with three-dimensional metal mesh panels on slopes, selective cleaning of non-native plant species and the fitness landscape and environmental restoration degraded areas.
The works also included the definition of public water through the provision of a wooden railing, planting trees and placing markers signaling.
