Sociology, journalism or history are some of the fields whose relationship with flamenco will be addressed in the "Third International Congress on Flemish university research," one of the events that make up the programming of the International University Campus Mar-Mare Nostrum, to be held at The Union from 19 to 21 July.
The event was presented Monday at the Rector of the University of Murcia by the Rector and Francisco José Antonio Cobacho Barnabas, mayor of La Union, a town that is hosting this event, among others.
José Francisco Ortega Castejón, a director of congressional scholars have referred to flamenco as "a mysterious art that removes our entrails," and can be known from many perspectives.
Ortega conducted a review of the conference program, which brings together leading researchers of the phenomenon known flamenco artists, some of them holding the "Lamp Mining Union."

Interventions will also feature flamenco artists such as Franz Joseph and Archangel Ramos, Carlos Conesa Piñana, Antonio Parra Booming, Norberto Torres Cortes, Jose Luis Navarro Garcia, José Manuel Gamboa Rodríguez, Gerhard Steingress, Balbino Gutiérrrez Quesada and Javier Latorre.
For its part, the director of the Sea International University, Maria del Carmen Martinez Graciá, said that the courses of the International University of the Sea, barely begun, have already surpassed the 500 students enrolled, and highlighted the intention to open a conference All and "to become a forum in which experts and researchers meet to discuss flamenco".
Francisco Barnabas referred to the happy circumstance that "the only Flemish and mining town, which is the Union, and one of the most prestigious universities join forces again in a congress of this kind," which, in his view, he said, has assembled a very select group of artists and flamenco with talks and performances: "In three days, and for only 80 euros, offered a unique opportunity for the first hundred privileged to be registered in the activity," adding that "opportunities as it, to enjoy this universal art form, there will be very few. For its part, the Rector of the University of Murcia, Jose Antonio Cobacho, welcomed having a demonstration in the region as the Festival del Cante de las Minas de La Unión, one that is "all a national" and the fact that the University of Murcia and the Festival join forces in this conference.
