The Municipal Group Socialist councilor, Susana Hernandez, complains that the library Pelagius Ferrer of El Palmar is unworthy and totally inadequate for most district of Murcia with more than 23,000 inhabitants. "Hernandez said that is a facility that opened almost thirty years ago and after this time is now outdated for the current needs of El Palmar.
The PSOE mayor insists that they are particularly serious architectural barriers presented by this installation since the reading room is located on the first floor which can only be accessed by climbing the stairs making access impossible for a person with disabilities.
Susana Hernandez also complains that this library, built in 1984, continues today with a tiny budget of bibliographical and audiovisual and very few computer stations.
To all this must be added, says the socialist mayor, "the cuts in the hours that remain unresolved and require close this library on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings."
The demand PSOE councilor Team PP government a solution for this library for many years that both the Socialist Group in the City Council as the Municipal Board has been reporting this problem with no response even though it is the parish's largest municipality, showing little concern for the various governments of the PP in the culture and the neglect of villages.
