Javier Marín Serrano and Miguel Angel Perez Sanchez, faculty of the Department of Basic Psychology and Methodology at the University of Murcia, have won the Best Paper Award 2011 in Psychological Science.
The jury, which gives the Spanish Society of Experimental Psychology (SEPEX), praised the study, published in the Journal of Memory and Language, which is "a major advance in understanding the basic mechanisms of learning vocabulary."
"For a thorough review of state of the art research and theories on the order of acquisition of words," the ruling, conclusions and projections potentially applicable theoretical and research that includes an "experimental treatment particularly difficult."
The award, comprising a cash prize of 1,500 euros will be awarded at the next congress of the Society to be held this year in Liege (Belgium).
