The romance of the milling and the mayor presented Thursday at the Teatro Romea in Murcia (09/05/2012)

Morpheus Theatre presents Classic Thursday, May 10 at the Teatro Romea in Murcia Three Cornered Hat, a staging of the immortal work of the nineteenth century and the Spanish writer Pedro Antonio de Alarcón, based on the known Castilian language of the milling and the mayor, assimilated by popular culture in many variants and throughout the Spanish geography.

The performance will take place at 21 am, at the Teatro Romea in Murcia.

The price of seats is 15, 12 and 8 euros.

Undoubtedly, this is a classic romantic manners, whose novel was brought to international fame by adapting them to do the Diaghilev Ballets Russes, with musical score by Manuel de Falla, and scenery and costumes by Pablo Picasso in 1919, which toured with great success the most prestigious theaters in Europe.

Later, in mid-twentieth century, was re-launched to fame with some famous sets by Salvador Dali.

We present a purely theatrical adaptation faithful to the original novel written by Alarcon in 1874, respecting both the Castilian language and spirit of the writer himself, he bequeathed to posterity a jewel manners of life in rural Spain in the nineteenth century.

All with a staging with costumes and sets of pure classic in Spanish Goya's aesthetic, which, in its popularity and great fun, akin to the general public, strictly respects the literary quality of the original.

Situated action in the early nineteenth century, in a sale, near the city of Seville.

In that sale, Uncle Luke is a miller aged, "ugly as sin," married to the beautiful Fras.

The libidinous corregidor Don Eugenio de Zuniga crave the favor of the mill, which it refuses to grant.

The mayor devises a ruse to ward Uncle Luke of the sale, but once there by chance you fall to the water channel and is forced to take off their clothes and bed.

As Frasquita going to tell your husband returns and finds that the Miller is the mayor in his bed, thinking he has been mocked, snatching her clothes in order to get back and up going to seduce his wife.

When they learn, Frasquita and the mayor are released to prevent the Machiavellian revenge of the miller.

After many entanglements, the mayor receives the desired deterrent, and Uncle Luke and his mischievous milling can retire to live in peace.
