A project to create a green boulevard of El Palmar Road wins the contest of Urban Planning and the College of Architecture (09/05/2012)

It is led by Andrés Cánovas, Amann and Nicholas Maruri Atxu

The project 'Green Boulevard El Palmar' has won the support of the Department of Planning of the City of Murcia and the Association of Architects to remodel the road to El Palmar.

This work is performed by Andrés Cánovas, Nicholas Maruri and Atxu Amann, with the collaboration of Ana Lopez, Javier Gutiérrez and Pablo Siguenza.

The work is to create a new road layout on the existing and creating small neighborhoods or go urban population surrounded by gardens and green areas.

Thus, the road to El Palmar as a grand boulevard would open to the garden.

Also boost farming by creating small markets, orchards, gardens and leisure rentals.

The goal is to eliminate the industrial use in the area and enhance the garden.

The theme of the winning project is: "Cities and neighborhoods and the people ', with the objectives of integration, diversity and transparency.

The award is in order, by the City of Murcia, in a project to develop the proposal, or at 20,000 euros, if the Consistory decided not to carry out the work.

Of the four projects that reached the final, second has been "Redo landscapes', presented by Fernando de Retes as author and Francisco Jose Abellan, Olivia Rodriguez and Lucia Retes as collaborators.

Third has been 'Spike', presented by San Juan Architecture, SL And fourth 'Dosmasuno' presented by Martin Peña, Roberto Marin and Jonathan Martinez.

Each of the finalists will get 5,000 euros.

The jury was made by Councilman Urbanism, Director General of Housing and Architecture, Director of Services of the Department of Planning, Chief Technical Urban Management, Head of Technical Planning, Dean of the College of Architects, Dean of the College of Civil Engineers, Canales y Puertos, architect and member of the Governing Board of the College of Architects of Murcia and the architect of the Villa Mariano Sanz, invited by Urban.
