The city of Murcia has been invited for the first time the International Congress of Ibn Arabi through the Department of Culture, organized by the Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi Society, entitled Ibn Arabi.
Spiritual Realization - Knowledge and Practice.
The councilman of Culture, Rafael Gomez, wanted to show your appreciation for this invitation, since it is a unique meeting, as on the figure of Ibn Arabi is working hard in the municipality of Murcia.
The conference now in its 29th edition and will be held at the prestigious Worcester College, Oxford University on 5 and 6 May.

Ibn Arabi: Sufi mystic, philosopher, poet, sage, Muhammad Ibn Arabi is one of the greatest spiritual masters of the world.
Born in Murcia, al-Andalus, in 1165, and his works have a great impact throughout the Islamic world and beyond.
The universal ideas underlying his thoughts are of great relevance today.
The Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi Society (MIAS) was founded in 1977 to promote greater awareness of the work of Ibn Arabi and his followers.
This association is based in Oxford (England) and a branch in Berkeley (California) and one in Murcia (Spain).
Website (www.ibnarabisociety.org) provides news and announcements of events, and also provides information about some publications that are made in this field.
It has about 150 translations and articles published in the journal of the Association and other sources.
The association aims MIAS Spain multidisciplinary study of the figure and legacy of this master.

Under the title 'Ibn Arabi of Murcia: Travel and Creation', the meeting was held in order to promote studies on this great author Murcia universal in scope, considering its impact on today in the various arts and fields.
The symposium included a reflection on future activities and projects promoted by the Center Puertas de Castilla and MIAS with the same purposes, and two awards IBAFF, Tarjuman prize, awarded ex aequo to authors Gloton Maurice (France) and Stephen Hirtenstein ( UK), by dedication to the study, editing, distributing and / or translation of the work of Ibn Arabi and the prize awarded to the choreographer Barzakh Beyhan Murphy for a creative career or artistic work inspired by the thought of Ibn Arabi.
