The Youth Council of the City of Murcia remains committed to the program 'Networks for leisure: Another way to move', proposing leisure activities to young people between 12 and 30 years during weekends.
The Governing Board has approved the extension of the contract to Victor Garcia Hoz Youth Association, which provides this service for a period of two years.
The investment is 258,384 euros, reducing the contract by 25% compared to previous years.
The Councillor for Sports, Youth and Tourism, Miguel Cascales, recalled that in 2011 involved 24,500 young people, with an average attendance of 910 young people each weekend.
There were more than 1,500 activities.
Networks offers a variety of activities, most free.
The workshops are designed taking into account the preferences of young people, to encourage participation, which are accessible to all and to develop both the city and villages.
Activities take place in municipal spaces as 585M2 (Santa María de Gracia), La Nave (Bacons Bridge), municipal sports centers, IES of the municipality and the outdoors.
Among the highlights are workshops drawing the manga, introduction to Skateboard fashion Murcian cuisine, Japanese Sumi-e painting, fabrication shop percussion instruments from recycled materials, monologues, beads, dancing, etc..
Also, to improve the training of young people in the field of new technologies offer courses related to digital photography, web design and social networks.
Also performed in each edition of a championship indoor football night, involving over 200 young people, as well as adventure sports activities and nature as geocaching, skiing, paintball, climbing, hiking, scuba diving, orienteering, bungee jumping , karts, caving, canyoning, etc..
