Renewing the agreement between the City and the educational institution
The Councillor for Education of the City of Murcia, Maria Dolores Sanchez, has renewed this morning, according to the Aquarium of the University of Murcia to the school of the municipality to visit this facility and learn about marine life shown there.
It is expected that during this visit the facility during school 2,663 1 and 2 of primary.
Students enjoy the marine life and know the characteristics of seas and oceans around the world and the ecosystem of the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor.
The aim is to stimulate interest in the environment and conservation.
The collaboration between the City and the Aquarium, located in Hall of the University of Murcia in the Artillery Barracks, began during 2006/2007.
Throughout these six years have gone by 16,000 school facilities.
Murcia City Council subsidizes the Aquarium of the University with 6,000 euros, to assist in the maintenance of the facility.
University staff working at the Aquarium offers tours to school children.
