The team of high school students who has represented the region of Murcia in the Spanish Physics Olympiad XXIII has achieved an important result, getting a silver medal, two bronze and three honorable mentions.
José Pérez Sáez, Salzillo IES student, won a silver medal, while students Rosique Miguel Angel Linares, St. Bonaventure College, and Luis Martinez Zoroa, IES Fleet, have garnered bronze medals.
For his part, Ricardo Lopez Lopez, the IES Alfonso X, Myriam Guevara Barnes, IES Juan de la Cierva and Codorníu, and Alberto Lopez Alacid, Colegio San Buenaventura, have been awarded an honorable mention each.
The Spanish Olympiad held last weekend in Bilbao and involved 134 high school students elected by their respective local phases.
In local testing, the six students were selected from 60 colleagues from institutions throughout the Region of Murcia.
The local phase of the Region of Murcia is organized by the University of Murcia and Cartagena University and is sponsored by the Seneca Foundation.
