Murcia City Council continues its support and cooperation to the New Horizon Association Murcia, and so this morning the Board has given the green light to a grant of aid.
The actions undertaken by the New Horizon Association Murcia whose main target about 40 people with intellectual disabilities and their families indirectly.
The programs undertaken focus on supporting families, respite care, volunteer training, cultural programs of leisure, promoting independent living, workshops, participation in traditional activities and sports and physical expression .
The purpose of these actions is to achieve full integration of people are mentally disabled, and it set the following specific objectives:
- To promote personal development and independent lifestyle and healthy, actively participating in community life.
- Avoid isolation by the use of free time, enhancing the ability to relate to her group.
- Provide equal opportunities and improve the quality of life of these people.
- Caring for the disabled with fewer economic resources to enable their full development and social development.
