A window on the world's conflicts in the Faculty of Law (17/04/2012)

On the 40th anniversary of his birth, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) today launched Tuesday 17 April, at the Faculty of Law of Mercy Campus of the University of Murcia, the exhibition "40 Years of Independent Humanitarian Action" a photographic exhibition that reviews the history of the organization and the principles that have guided his work throughout his career.

The exhibit will be displayed in the Cloister of the Faculty of Law until next April 30 and from 2 to 25 May at the Faculty of Medicine.

This afternoon, at 19 pm, also in the Chamber of the Faculty of Arts, will hold a meeting that will talk titled: "Doctors Without Borders. 40 years of Independent Humanitarian Action".

The origins of Doctors Without Borders

As the exhibition explains, MSF was born in December of 1971 by a group of doctors and journalists, frustrated about because the mandate of the organization they worked prevented them from testifying about the genocide of the Ibo in Biafra (Nigeria , 1968), others by the inefficiency with which they attended to the victims of the floods of 1970 in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

A global organization with five million members
