Nineteen people have managed this morning to be the winners of new leisure gardens Espinardo, Ronda Sur and Sangonera la Verde.
The objective of this initiative of the Department of Environment, led Adela Martinez-Cachá, is to use local farmland as social orchards under organic production systems and traditional restore and conserve the species grown in the Huerta de Murcia and develop a educational achievement, training and outreach.
The gardens, which were awarded by lottery in the presence of applicants are located in the garden of Tiroconsa Espinardo (15 plots), garden in Round Lake South (3 plots) and The Garden of Sunflowers in Sangonera la Verde ( 1 plot).
For these 19 gardens have been submitted 43 applications.
16 people have been on the waiting list to fill any vacancies in leisure gardens.
At the time of his award take precedence early retirement or retired people who live in the district in which lies the garden.
The grant is for two years, renewable for two more.
In the town there are a total of 51 leisure gardens are in:
-Espinardo Tiroconsa garden, 16 plots
-Espinardo future young, 10 plots
-Sangonera la Verde, 6 sites
-Garden Lake, Round South, 10 plots
-James the Greater, 9 plots
